WILKESVILLE – Vinton County Sheriff Shawn Justice reported
that Jerry D.
Barney, 55, of Wilkesville was arrested Sept.
10 after a search warrant was executed at his residence on Route 160.
According to Justice , Barney
was charged with multiple counts of aggravated drug trafficking and
drug possession. The warrant was as part of an
ongoing investigation by sheriff ’s office , Investigator
Ryan Cain and Deputy Richard
Hixson.
Several items allegedly
related to drug trafficking along
with weapons were found. The case will be
presented to the next Vinton County Grand Jury
by Prosecutor
Trecia Kimes-Brown and additional charges may result from that hearing.
Barney is being held at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail in Nelsonville
on a bond of $50,000.
